Dewey H. Woolsey

September 14, 1927 — August 20, 2018

Bicknell, Utah - Our beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother, Dewey Heaps Woolsey, age 90, passed away at his home in Bicknell on August 20, 2018. He was born September 14, 1927 in Escalante, Utah, a son of Tillman and Alcea Heaps Woolsey. He married the love of his life, Remola Jones, July 5, 1946 in Panguitch, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple March 9, 1953. She preceded him in death on January 4, 2014. Dewey served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. He was a member of the LDS Church. Dewey enjoyed logging, horse races, high school sports (he was the #1 fan for Wayne High School), Utah Jazz (go JAZZ!!!), chocolate, diet pepsi, the riding club, ford trucks and custom farming. He will be greatly missed. Dewey is survived by his children: Joan Woolsey of Richfield; Alcea and Verl Bagley of Greenwich; Kathleen Wilson of Sandy; Annette Woolsey of Bicknell; 19 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren with 2 on the way; sisters and brothers: Mona Gene Sorenson of Santaquin; Rae Smith of Parowan; Warren Woolsey of Cedar City; Milton Woolsey of Bakersfield, California; Donald Cowles of Santaquin; Sharon of Enoch; Doris and Dale Thurgood of Morgan; Dawna Rae and Harry Brian of Loa; Calvin and Ann Durfey of St. George. He is preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Jerry Rulon Woolsey and Donald Dewey Woolsey; twin infant daughters: Mary Woolsey and Marie Woolsey; a son-in-law: Jeff Wilson; a grandson, Bryce Thompson; and his siblings: Bud Woolsey, Rula Christenson, Wells Woolsey, Elnora Williams, Billy Dean Ellett; Phillis Woolsey; Brent Durfey and Darrel Durfey. Funeral services will be held Monday, August 27, 2018 at 1:00 P.M. in the Thurber LDS Ward Chapel in Bicknell. Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home in Richfield, Sunday evening from 6 to 8 P.M or at the ward chapel in Bicknell Monday morning from 11:00 to 12:30 prior to the services. Burial with military honors accorded by the Harold Brown American Legion Post #92 will be in the Bicknell Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
