Fremont, Utah – Diane Louise Mattingly, age 63, passed away January 19, 2025, at her home in Fremont. She was born November 10, 1961, in Grangerville, Idaho, a daughter of Albert and Mary Ann Ford Altman.
Diane grew up in Idaho, where she enjoyed camping, hiking and spending time with her family. She graduated from Two Eagle River School in Dixon, Montana in 1979, and was the only student to graduate at the time.
Diane met and married Walter Hugh Mattingly in 1980. They had two children, Mindy and Josh. He passed away December 7, 1992. She later met Cecil Moosman in 1993, and they had a son, Ace. They have been together ever since.
Diane has lived in Superior, Montana; Hope Idaho; and also in California, Washington and Oregon, and finally settling in Fremont in 1989.
Diane enjoyed camping, fishing, hiking, gardening and flowers. She loved her kids and grandkids. Diane always had cookies for the grandkids in her cookie jar. They remember them tasting fresh, even if they weren’t. (lol) She loved cooking with her grandkids, but she never followed a recipe!!!
We all loved talking on the back porch or dancing in the kitchen. Grandma had great moves. We enjoyed smores in the firepit and many long rides up the canyon.
Grandma is survived her significant other, Cecil Moosman of Fremont; children: Mindy Mattingly of Salt Lake City; Josh and Megan Mattingly of Loa; Ace Moosman and Trinity Hunt of Lyman; 6 grandchildren; siblings: Ken Altman of Superior, Montana; Steve Altman and Janet Munn, both of Polson, Montana; Becky Altman of Mullan, Idaho; Bruce Altman of Anaconda, Montana; Alex Altman of Kentucky; Willie Bourdon of Ronan, Montana; and Art Bourdon of St. Ignatius, Montana.
