Reno, NV/ Lyman, UT - Dianne Perkins Chappell, age 70, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed away December 1, 2006 in Reno, NV, surrounded by her family. She was born November 14, 1936 in Ogden, Utah, a daughter of Claud and Nettie Cooley Perkins. She graduated from Utah State University in June of 1959 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Education. While attending Utah State, she met and married John E. Chappell of Lyman, Utah on July 9, 1960 in Layton, Utah. John died January 16, 2000. Dianne dedicated her life to serving others. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served in many positions. She was a selfless, gracious and loving woman. She unconditionally loved and was totally devoted to her family and friends, and will be deeply missed. She enjoyed knitting, visiting friends, watching sports with her family, and caring for her grandchildren. Dianne is survived by her four children: John E. Chappell II, Sally and Lamont Hall, all of Reno, NV; Clayton and Kathy Chappell of Minden, NV; Dell and Lori Chappell of Columbia, S.C.; 9 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. Grave side services will be held Saturday, December 9, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. in the Lyman Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield, Salina and Gunnison, Utah.
