Dick Droubay

July 14, 1954 — November 2, 2023

Richfield, Utah - Our beloved brother, uncle, cousin and friend, Richard John "Dick" Droubay, age 69, passed away peacefully at his home in Richfield Utah on Thursday, November 2, 2023.

Dick was born July 14, 1954, in Salt Lake City, Utah to John Richard and Nancy Jeanne Miller Droubay. He was the second of three children, and the only boy.

Dick spent most of his growing up years in Escalante, Utah, which he loved dearly. He enjoyed spending time at the ranch in Salt Gulch, fishing, hunting, and exploring the beautiful country he grew up in.

He also loved Mom's roast beef dinners, LaRell's garden tomatoes and beating all of us in marbles, most of all he loved his cat, Tigger.

Dick was an exceptional cook and baker, sharing his goodies with neighbors and family.

After graduation Dick moved to Salt Lake City and was a long-time employee of Gold Cross Ambulance, where he will be remembered fondly by many friends and colleagues.

After retiring Dick moved to Richfield to be closer to family.

Dick was very dear to all of us. He was an example of kindness, perseverance and love to his family and friends.  We will all miss his laugh and dry wit.

He is survived by sisters: Chris Schoonover and Julie Droubay, 11 nieces and nephews, brother-in-law Jim and many dear friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents: John Richard Droubay and Nancy Jeanne Miller Droubay Baker; Step Pop: LaRell Baker; Step-brother: Brad Baker.

As per Dick's wishes, no services will be held at this time, but there will be a private celebration of life this coming spring.
