Dick Robison

August 11, 1922 — June 29, 2006

Richfield, Utah - Darrell Eugene D.E. (Dick) Robison, age 83, loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully June 29, 2006 at his home in Richfield. He was born August 11, 1922 in Hinckley, Utah, a son of Gibbs and Ruby Keller Robison. He lived in Hinckley until the age of eight, when his family moved to Sevier County where he resided for the rest of his life. Dick graduated from Richfield High School in 1941 and attended Utah State University. He worked at the instrument shop at Hill Field in Ogden until he joined the Navy in 1942 at the beginning of World War II. In 1945 he returned home to Richfield to begin his business as a jeweler and watchmaker at Robison Jewelry. On May 7, 1948 he married Bonnie Jensen. In the early 1950's he merged Robison Jewelry with Western Auto and worked there until he retired in 1972. The retirement allowed he and Bonnie to fish, hunt and travel. They enjoyed winters in the south in Mexico, Arizona and Texas and summers in Fish Lake, Lake Powell, Washington State and many other places they could find good fishing. Throughout his life, he was active in various civic organizations including the Lion’s Club, Chamber of Commerce and the Sevier Wildlife Federation. Dick loved gardening and prided himself in growing and supplying fresh vegetables to his family and friends. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Bonnie, daughters and sons-in-law: Dixie and Brent Betenson, Diann and Mark Ross, all of Richfield; a sister, Geneva and Creg Burns, of Oklahoma. He also has seven granddaughters and their spouses and ten great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; step-father, Issac Colby; four brothers: Luzone Duncan, Samual Duncan, Everette Duncan and Mel Colby; and one sister, Marcella Robison. A family celebration of his life was held July 2, 2006. All men die, but not all men truly live. Dick truly lived and he emulated true life for his family and friends. His legacy will carry on. He will be truly missed. Funeral Directors: Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield, Salina and Gunnison, Utah.
