He grew up in Monroe with his eight siblings. One of his favorite pastimes was playing “shinney” with his family. He attended South Sevier High School and graduated in 1950. After high school he served two years in the U.S. Army before marrying his sweetheart, Iris Sorenson on February 20, 1958 in Las Vegas, Nevada. During the first twelve years of their marriage, they lived in many locations across the state of Wyoming. In 1970 Don and Iris bought the family farm and settled in Greenwich Utah where they have since lived. Don is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served as the town Water Master for several years. After the kids grew up and left home, he and Iris enjoyed family home evening with their empty nester friends. He played tennis in high school and has enjoyed several hobbies. When he was not restoring classic cars and antique tractors, he was sharing his artistic skills in wood and leather work. Don was an honest and hardworking man. He enjoyed using his gifts and talents making a wide range of wooden gifts for his children and grandchildren including cedar chests, beautiful wooden boxes, rocking horses, cars, trucks, picture frames, tractors and more. Don loved being with his family and enjoyed the Monroe Mountain, the Pinedale River or anywhere he could fish. He especially enjoyed living in Glendo and Ten Sleep Wyoming, He lived his dream of having a wonderful family and a happy life. Among our favorite memories are the many Dutch Oven cookouts hosted by mom and dad. Dad had a fun sense of humor and loved explosives.
