Don Poole

Donald Ray Poole Jr. was born March 3, 1948 in San Antonio, Texas, a son of Patricia Lou Grubbs Poole and Donald Ray Poole Sr. He passed away March 11, 2023 at his home in West Jordan, Utah.

Don was a man of confidence and poise, and was ridiculously intelligent. He could see and solve difficult geometry and numbers in his head. He spoke eloquently with a wide array of fascinating and often complicated words.

Sometimes he would say that he was “contemplating the vicissitudes of life.” He understood the intricate details that come with life and he never gave up the fight.

Don had a love for people. He always took interest in what mattered to you and happily celebrated your successes. He was always up for coffee and lending a listening ear.

His love for animals was also great. Dogs and cats alike would gravitate to him, and boy, did Don spoil them!

Don is survived by his wife Paula, whom he loved dearly, his sons Sean and Spencer who adored their dad, and grandson Zaiden. Extended family and friends also share in the loss of this extraordinary man.

The circumstances that came into Don’s life didn’t define his life. Don defined his life.

Family funeral services for Don were held Thursday, March 16, 2023 at the Springer Turner Funeral Home Chapel in Richfield, Utah. Burial followed at the Richfield City Cemetery under the care of Springer Turner Funeral Homes of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
