Donald D. Woolsey

January 25, 1960 — April 12, 2016

Bicknell, Utah - On Tuesday, April 12, 2016, our beloved Father, Grandfather, Son, Brother, Uncle and Friend, Donald Dewey Woolsey, completed his last haul here on earth. He was born January 25, 1960 in Richfield, Utah, a son of Dewey Heaps and Remola Jones Woolsey. He graduated from Wayne High School in 1978. He was a member of the LDS Church. He served in his community as a Class 2 Officer and on the Wayne County Search and Rescue. He enjoyed riding horses, camping, hunting, 4-wheeling, logging, trucking, fishing, chasing buffalo and bummin', BUT he most enjoyed pestering, harassing, pinching or giving you a good ol' friendly zap from his "hotshot". He was a big kid at heart and these are the things he did to show he cared. His infectious, loud, boisterous laugh made you know of his presence before even seeing him. Hearing the laugh made you turn and there was that unforgettable smile. His greatest joys were his children and his grandsons who proudly called him "Papa Duck". He also found great joy in working side by side with his Dad, big brother, Scott and Wade, and numerous good men throughout this community, logging the beautiful mountains here in this place we call home. He had an amazing talent running the log loader and driving truck. Donald is survived by his children: Melissa and Darcy Edwards of Loa; Lacey and Jason Grundy of Fremont; Jed D. and Kirsten Woolsey of Torrey; Dax Donald Woolsey of Lyman; grandsons: Trigg and Ryder Edwards, Tate and Colt Grundy and two baby girls on the way; his father: Dewey H. Woolsey of Bicknell; sisters: Kathleen Wilson of Sandy; Alcea and Verl Bagley of Greenwich; Annette Woolsey of Bicknell; Joan Woolsey of Richfield; and sister-in-law: Kathy R. Woolsey of Bicknell. He was preceded in death by his mother, Remola Woolsey; a brother, Jerry Woolsey; a brother-in-law: Jeff Wilson; and twin infant sisters: Mary and Marie Woolsey. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at 1:)0 P.M. in the Thurber LDS Ward Chapel in Bicknell. Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home in Richfield, Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. or at the ward chapel in Bicknell, Wednesday morning from 10:00 to 12:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Bicknell Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
