Doris Memmott

October 24, 1924 — March 9, 2007

Scipio, Utah - Our kind and beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and sister, Doris Loreen Williams Memmott, age 82, died March 9, 2007 at her home in Scipio. She was born October 24, 1924 in Salina, Utah a daughter of Montague Lenial and Coral Ricke Ludvigson Williams. She married Hal Allen Memmott December 2, 1946 in Scipio, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple March 3, 1965. Hal died April 9, 1996. Doris was an active member of the LDS Church, serving in the Primary and the Relief Society. She was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. Doris loved hunting, fishing, handiwork, pine nut picking, cooking and she was a great Jazz fan. GO JAZZ!!! She is survived by her three children: Gloria Romano of Levan; Clair and Julie memmott, Chan and LuJean Memmott, all of Scipio; 17 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; a sister, Marilyn Worwood of Levan and a sister-in-law: Mala (Ted) Ballow. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one sister, Ada Hartle; one brother, Grant Williams; three grandchildren: Stefany Pickering, Justine Memmott and Clint Christensen; and a sister-in-law: Maurine (Chad) Herbert. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 13, 2007 at 12 Noon in the Scipio LDS Ward Chapel. Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home in Salina, Monday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. or at the ward chapel in Scipio Tuesday morning from 10:00 to 11:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Scipio Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield, Salina and Gunnison, Utah.
