Dr. Lemoyne Petersen

Morgan/Torrey, Utah - Alma LeMoyne Petersen, age 95, of Morgan, Utah, passed away December 19, 2014 in South Ogden, Utah, surrounded by his family. He was born April 14, 1919 in Huntsville, Utah, a son of Alma Lind and Meta Eliza Schade Petersen. LeMoyne served his country during World War II in the United States Army. He married Winifred Jennens, June 6, 1946 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He attended Weber State College and Brigham Young University, receiving a BS Degree in Accounting; and the University of Nebraska where he got his Dental Degree. LeMoyne served as President of the Utah Dental Association. He practiced dentistry in Ogden and Bicknell, Utah. He also served as President of the Utah Rose Society. LeMoyne was an active member of the LDS Church, serving as a Bishop twice, once in Ogden and once in Torrey; he served a mission to Denmark as a young man and later, a mission with his wife to West Virginia. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, jewelry making, painting and singing. LeMoyne is survived by his wife, Winifred Petersen, currently of South Ogden; his children: Sandra L. and Brent T. Packer of Gilbert, Arizona; Mejken E. and Brian Theurer of Layton; David L. and Sherri Petersen of South Jordan; Karen L. and Steven Sunday of Morgan; Janet S. and Ned Mikkelsen of Bunkerville, Nevada; 23 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Lillian N. Petersen; a daughter, Lauren Kaye Petersen and three grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. in the Enterprise LDS Ward Chapel, 2755 West Old Highway Road in Morgan, Utah. Burial with military honors accorded by the Ogden Valley American Legion Post #129 will be in the Huntsville Cemetery, Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 P.M. under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
