Duane Hansen Escondido, CA/ Richfield, UT - Our kind and beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, Franklin Duane Hansen, age 80, passed away at his home in Escondido, California from a massive heart attack on the evening of May 20, 2003. He was born June 16, 1922 in Gunnison, Utah, a son of Neils Duane and Ruth Ellen Christensen Hansen. He graduated from Gunnison Valley High School, Class of 1940 and attended college for one year in Logan, Utah. He joined the United States Army and served in protecting his country during World War II. Duane married Tora Jean Case from Annabella, Utah on August 18, 1945 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Their marriage was solemnized in the Los Angeles LDS Temple, May 23, 1964. He was an active member of the LDS Church serving in various positions. He worked as a Supervisor in the Citrus Grove Industry in California for over twenty years. Duane enjoyed hunting and looked forward to their vacations to Utah to hunt deer every year. Duane is survived by his wife of Escondido, CA; children: Geraldine (Steven) Haven, Everett, Washington; Arnold Duane (Candice) Hansen, Escondido; CA; granddaughter: Alicia (Anthony) Rousseau,Ramona, CA; siblings: Norma and Curtis Fowler, Linda Vista, CA; Garth (deceased) and Joan Hansen of Escondido,CA. Funeral services will be Tuesday, May 27, 2003 at 1:00 P.M. in the Springer Turner Funeral Home Chapel, 260 North 400 West in Richfield, where friends may call for viewing Tuesday morning from 11:00 to 12:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Annabella Cemetery under the direction of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield, Salina and Gunnison, Utah.
