Spring City, Utah – Our beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother, Duane L. Christensen, age 83, passed away June 13, 2021 in Murray, Utah. He was born January 19, 1938 in Richfield, a son of Reed and Barbara M. Levie Christensen. H grew up in Richfield and played high school baseball and basketball. He graduated from Richfield High School, Class of 1956 on May 18, 1956. He married his high school sweetheart, Bonnie Gail Case from Annabella on June 1, 1956 in Annabella, Utah. They moved to Escondido, California on July 21 of that year and he started his new job on July 23, 1956. Their marriage was solemnized in the Los Angeles LDS Temple May 23, 1964. Bonnie died November 21, 2016. Duane was a hard worker, a good provider and he had a great sense of humor. He loved fishing and hunting and being out of doors. He loved to tinker and build things. He was a great gardener and always helped Bonnie bottle their garden produce. Duane and Bonnie were well known for their homemade candies which they shared with neighbors and friends. Duane played city league softball with his sons as they were growing up in Southern California. He was a great supporter of his children and grandchildren. He was so proud of them and loved spending time with them. Duane was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving as Stake financial clerk for many years in Escondido. They moved to Spring City in 2000 and loved living in that small town. He will be greatly missed. Duane is survived by his children: Kim and Darlene Christensen of Orem; Cindy and Chris Anderson of Spanish Fork; Rand and Cindy Jo Christensen of Spring City; 11 grandchildren 19 great-grandchildren; a sister, Vanetta and Vance Brinkerhoff of Torrey; sisters-in-law: Elberta Christensen of Central Valley and Judy Christensen of Richfield. He is preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife; and siblings: Devon Christensen, Sylva Mae Christensen and Alma Christensen. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 18, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. in the Springer Turner Funeral Home Chapel in Richfield, where friends may call for viewing Friday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Annabella Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
