Duella H. Christenson

Gunnison, Utah - Our kind and beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, Duella Higham Christenson, age 97, died October 16, 2007 in Gunnison, Utah. She was born November 26, 1909 in Centerfield, Utah, a daughter of Albert Edmond and Florance Childs Higham. She graduated from Gunnison High School, Class of 1928. She married Howard Brereton Christenson December 12, 1934 in Nephi, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple. He died January 29, 1975. Mom was an active member of the LDS Church, serving as a visiting teacher supervisor and a class teacher. She loved to crochet, quilt and was an avid reader. She is survived by her children: Karen Cheney of Springville; Reuben A. and Bette Jean Christenson of Gunnison; Paige and Phillip Rimmasch of Salt Lake City; Richard W. and Joy Christenson of Layton; Howard J. and Jeanette Christenson of Providence; 25 grandchildren; 51 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; brother and sister: Delmar and Shirley Higham of Gunnison; Florence Lindhardt of Kearns. She was preceded in death by her parents; 1 brother and 4 sisters. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 20, 2007 at 12 Noon in the Gunnison LDS Stake Center, where friends may call for viewing Friday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. or Saturday morning from 10:30 to 11:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Gunnison City Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield, Salina and Gunnison, Utah.
