Dwight E. Oyler

August 13, 1954 — January 14, 2016

Loa, Utah - Dwight Ernest Oyler, age 61, best friend and husband of Wanda Oyler; father, and “Grandpa Grump,” passed away suddenly Thursday, January 14, 2016 in Bicknell, Utah of a massive heart attack. He was born Friday, August 13, 1954, in Richfield, Utah a son of Ernest and Mary Leta Coleman Oyler. He graduated from Wayne High School in 1972 and went on to attend Wyoming Tech Institute where he studied to be a mechanic. He has one daughter, Mary Amy Lee from his first marriage. Dwight loved her very much, saying there was such a special love a dad has for his little girl. He later married Wanda Anderson on December 14, 1985. They have two sons; Dillon Dwight, who is married to Sarah Smith; and Cody Evan, who is married to Ashley Marlowe. Dillon has one son, Evan Dillon, who made Dwight the happiest grandpa in the world. He was also excitedly awaiting the arrival of two more grandchildren expected in May and June. As a young man, he loved hunting with his dad and his uncles. Dwight was so proud of his boys and enjoyed spending time with them camping, hiking, hunting horns, and watching the elk. He also loved to sit around a fire with his kids, nieces, and nephews, just telling stories and visiting. Dwight found great joy in his work. He liked to work hard and make sure the job was done “just right.” Pushing dirt with a dozer was his favorite thing to do. He would sit up and smile when the blade was rolling over with dirt. Dwight is survived by his wife, Wanda of Loa; his mother, Leta Oyler of Loa; children: Amy Lee of Salt Lake City; Dillon and Sarah Oyler of Antimony; Cody and Ashley Oyler of Fremont; 1 grandson, Evan Oyler of Antimony; sisters and brothers: Eunice Oyler and Johnny Beard, Douglas and Merlyn Oyler, Ricky and Melanie Oyler, and Mericha Oyler, all of Loa; Ramona and Don Peterson of Richfield; Roger and Luana Oyler of Torrey; mother-in-law: Jeneal Moosman of Loa; sister and brother-in-law, Tammy and Mitch Draper of Fremont; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Ernest Oyler, his sister Leisa Oyler, and his brother-in-law Paul Anderson. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but we know he is working on a special job with his dad and good friend, Mike. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at 1:00 P.M. in the Fremont LDS Ward Chapel, where friends may call for viewing Wednesday morning from 11:00 to 12:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Loa Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
