Earl B. Brown

Centerfield/Koosharem, Utah - Earl B. “Billy” Brown, age 61 of Koosharem, died Thanksgiving morning, November 24, 2005 at his home in Centerfield. He was born on Thanksgiving morning, November 26, 1943 in Salina, Utah, the only son of Kenneth B. and Beatrice Burr Brown. He graduated from Piute High School, Class of 1962 and he attended Snow College in Ephraim. He served in the United States Army during the Viet Nam Conflict. Billy married Mary Brewer October 7, 1968 in Koosharem. They were later divorced. He married Sandra Jean Johnston Welch, November 22, 1974 in Axtell, Utah. They were later divorced, but remain very good and close friends. When he wasn’t on the truck, he would spend his nights at Sandra’s home in Centerfield. Billy was a trucker and he was currently working for Bastian Trucking in Aurora. He loved being a trucker. He was also a member of the LDS Church. Billy enjoyed hunting and fishing with his nephew Kreig Bertelson and Kreig’s sons. He loved to dance, enjoyed western movies and spending time with his step-grandchildren. His only child, Jennie, was the light of his life and he was excited to see his first grandson due in April. He is survived by his daughter, Jennie Anne and Chris Koford of Layton; step-children: Laurie and Bill Davis of Centerfield; Shari and Van Malmgren of Mayfield; Donnie and Julie Welch of Elk Ridge; Hugh and Marie Welch of Gunnison; 15 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson; sisters: Arva Lee Bertelson of Axtell; Ludean and Larry Aldrich of Magna; Mabel and Steve Johnson of Palm Bay, Florida; numerous nieces and nephews; and his former wife and close friend, Sandra Brown of Centerfield. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law, George Bertelson. Funeral services will be held Monday, November 28, 2005 at 12 Noon in the Koosharem LDS Ward Chapel. Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home in Richfield, Sunday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. and at the ward chapel in Koosharem Monday morning from 10:30 to 11:30 prior to the services. Burial with military honors accorded by the Harold Brown American Legion Post #92 will be in the Burrville Cemetery under the direction of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield, Salina and Gunnison, Utah.
