Edna F. Bjerregaard

Mayfield, Utah - Our beloved mother, Edna Frandsen Bjerregaard, 94, passed away Sunday, January 17, 2016, from cause’s incident to age. Born May 2, 1921 to Peter L. and Ida Caroline Larsen Frandsen in Clarion, Utah. She married Sheldon Arthur Bjerregaard November 29, 1937 in Richfield, Utah and later solemnized their marriage in the Manti LDS Temple on March 27, 1952. With her husband, Sheldon, they raised a family of four children in Mayfield, Utah where they spent nearly 69 years together before his passing in 2006. Hard-working and generous, she loved people, gave freely of her talents and took a genuine interest in everyone she met. As a child, she learned to play the piano by ear, played for school dances as a teenager and used her musical talent to entertain her family, as an accompanist and church organist. Her hands were always busy as she lovingly crocheted beautiful afghans, doilies and snowflakes for family members. Active in church and community affairs, she worked 30 years at the local post office and was Postmaster for 16 years before retiring in 1990. She loved her post office job because it gave her the opportunity to know and interact with almost everyone in town on a daily basis. She is survived by her four children and spouses: Douglas and Mary Ann (deceased) Bjerregaard, Richard and Sharon Bjerregaard, Marsha and Clair Nielson and Clair Bjerregaard; 14 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; brother, Allen Frandsen, and sisters, Marian Christensen, Louise Pratt and Ina Midgley. Preceded in death by her parents: Peter L. and Ida Frandsen; husband: Sheldon Arthur Bjerregaard; grandsons: David Bjerregaard and Paul Bjerregaard; great granddaughter: Carly Dyreng; and brothers, Ivan Frandsen and Ray Frandsen. Funeral services will be Saturday, January 23, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Mayfield Ward Chapel, where friends may call for viewing Friday evening from 5:00 to 7:30 p.m. and prior to the services Saturday morning from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in the Mayfield Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
