Kearns, Utah – Our loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Elaine Carter Colby, has succumbed to her long battle with MS at the age of 79 on April 18, 2022, surrounded by her family in Elsinore, Utah. She was born August 7, 1942 in Provo, a daughter of Floyd and Margaret Gagon Carter. She married the love of her life, Ronald Murvin Colby Sr. of Richfield, July 21, 1962 in Chester, Utah. Elaine had the strongest love for her three children: Ronald and Bonnie Colby of Harrison, Arkansas; Rhonda and Rob Wyatt of Kearns; Christine and Rory Meacham of Elsinore. Elaine loved spending time with her 13 grandchildren and her 8 great-grandchildren. She enjoyed the summers they would come spend with her visiting the Zoo, feeding the ducks at Liberty Park and all the outdoor activities they did. When she wasn’t spending time with her family, you could catch her reading and crocheting. She also enjoyed helping Ronald in the shop creating many wood heirlooms for family and friends. Elaine developed a career in law, which she enjoyed for over 60 years. Elaine loved her siblings and shared many memories with them. She is survived by her siblings: Wayne Carter, Margaret and Darrell Harward, Arnold and Mary Carter. She is preceded in death by her parents; siblings: Floyd, Stephen and Rose. Cremation services were performed by the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
