Salina, Utah - Our beloved mother, grandmother and sister, Elaine Horne Allred, age 92 of Salina, was called home to her loving Heavenly Father on February 14, 2018 in Centerfield, Utah. Elaine was born October 22, 1925 to Horace James and Charlotte Gates Horne in Salina Utah. She married Bryon W. Allred on July 21, 1942 in Farmington, Utah and was later sealed for time and all eternity in the Manti Utah LDS Temple on April 19, 1980. He preceded her in death on August 6, 1997. She was blessed with 3 children; Gailya, Ronald (Ron) and William (Bill), whom she taught the value of hard work and dedication. Family was her number one priority and she was never too busy to lend a listening ear. Elaine had a love for gardening, working with the youth, and the Utah Jazz. Her hobbies included oil painting, games and music. She loved the Gospel of Jesus Christ and followed its teachings of charity, love and service. She held many church callings from Youth Leader to Temple Worker. She was involved in the community and organized the Youth Council in Salina. She worked for many businesses in Salina over the years including IFA, Stubbs Hardware, and Sorensen Electric. She retired from Zions Bank and continued to work at Hallows Financial for several years. Elaine is survived by her daughter, Gailya Utley of Magna; brother, Ralph Horne of Orem; brother-in-law, Wallace Braithwaite of Sunset; 10 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Horace and Charlotte; her husband, Byron; sons, Ron and Bill; sister, Evelyn Braithwaite and sister in-law, LaRae Horne. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 24, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. in the Salina LDS Stake Center, 98 West 400 North in Salina, where friends may call for viewing Saturday morning from 9:00 to 10:30 prior to the services., Burial will be in the Redmond City Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
