Elias Diaz

April 18, 1945 — January 12, 2009

Teasdale, Utah - Our beloved husband, father, grandpa, brother and friend, Samuel Elias Dias, age 63, died January 12, 2009 at his home in Teasdale, with his loving wife at his side. He passed after losing the battle with cancer. He was born April 18, 1945 in Corona, California, a son of Matias and Aurora Serrato Diaz. He married his true love, Avis Coleman, January 26, 1978. Elias enjoyed the comfortable country living. He enjoyed the out doors, fishing, camping and a hike to the falls. He made many good friends over the 28 years he lived in Teasdale. Elias was known to have a wonderful “Green Thumb”. He had a strong passion for trees. He built a home in Teasdale and raised a family. Elias loved his family and cherished the memories they made together. He always found pleasure in a ride on his Harley-Davidson, either to the store or through the park, he loved his bike. We will miss his hard work and his company. Elias leaves a loving and patient wife, Avis Coleman Diaz of Teasdale; His family has grown and he leaves behind six daughters and 1 son: Amanda Flores of Teasdale; Fern Potter of Lyman; Lemual Potter of Las Vegas, Nevada; Elaine Diaz of San Bernardino, CA; Tina Diaz, Leah Diaz and Nadine Diaz, all of Riverside, CA; 14 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters: Martin Diaz of Gillette, WY; Ruth Diaz of Palm Desert, CA; Beverly Diaz and Fermin Diaz, both of Riverside, CA. He is preceded in death by a brother, Paul Diaz and his parents. A wake and celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2009 at the family home in Teasdale. We will gather all throughout the day, as family and friends are traveling in from everywhere. At his request, Elias’ remains were cremated and burial will take place at a later date.
