Ellis Rae Jensen

Salina, Utah - Our kind and beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, Ellis Rae Crane Jensen, age 76, died October 10, 2006 in Richfield, after a valiant battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. She was born November 29, 1929 in Salina, Utah, a daughter of Leo Hobson and Donna Stevens Crane. She attended North Sevier High School in Salna. She married John Marion “Jack” Jensen, October 1, 1947 in Salina, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple on November 20, 1998. Jack died October 22, 2004. Ellis Rae was an active member of the LDS Church, serving as a Primary Teacher, Visiting Teacher, working in the MIA Program and in the Relief Society. She was an active member of the Salina Senior Citizens, the American Legion Auxiliary of Salina; the Salina Riding Club, the Birthday Club and the Card Club. Ellis Rae worked as an Instructional Assistant at Salina Elementary for 16 years and volunteered for many years after. Ellis Rae enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing at Fish Lake, Maple Grove, Koosharem, Reservoir and Otter Creek with her loving husband, Jack. She is survived by her children: Linda and Bruce Warren; Denise and Rich Harvey, all of Salina; Michael and Jill Jensen of Centerfield; grandchildren: Jackie and Richard Schugk, Jason Harvey, Jessica and Jason Hansen, Melissa Harvey, Ciara Warren; great-grandchildren: Jackson Schugk and Christian Hansen; sisters and brother: Dorothy and Clarence Hicks of West Valley City; Clayton and Virginia Crane, Marilyn and Roy Cooke, all of Salina. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Maurine Crane. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 13, 2006 at 12 Noon in the Springer Turner Funeral Home Chapel, 260 North 400 West, in Richfield, where friends may call for viewing Friday morning from 9:30 to 11:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Salina Eastside Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield, Salina and Gunnison, Utah.
