Emmett Anderson

October 14, 2000 — October 14, 2023

Central Valley, Utah - Emmett Ty Anderson, our beloved son, brother, and friend passed away on his 23rd birthday, October 14, 2023, during his much-anticipated annular solar eclipse. He was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on Oct 14, 2000, a son of Julie Ann Sitthichai and Emmett Earl Anderson Jr.

He grew up in Phoenix, Arizona, Salt Lake City, Utah and Richfield, Utah. In school, he was involved in band, wrestling, track and scouts. He graduated from Cedar Ridge High School in 2020.

Emmett was an energetic and mischievous soul with a heart of gold. He had a love for all things music, family, friends, astrology, and anime. He was a multi-talented musician, playing the trumpet, saxophone, acoustic and electric guitar, and piano.

After his shift at Bar 86 he would trade in his chef's apron for a microphone where he thoroughly enjoyed karaoke. His passion for music added another layer to his vibrant personality.

Emmett had an impact on all those who had the privilege of knowing him and was everyone’s best friend. One of his greatest joys was spending time with his little nieces, nephew, and his family. His love for them knew no bounds, and he cherished every moment with them. Emmett always made time for anyone that needed a listening ear, a shoulder to cry on, someone to rough house with, create music with, or just to be a good friend.

Emmett had the most beautiful smile and made everyone laugh. He was unapologetically himself, well beyond his years, and loyal to his family and friends.

Words can’t adequately describe the heartbreak we feel, knowing that we have to wait so long to see his smiling face. We know he is now at peace and will be watching over us all. We cannot wait for the joyous reunion we will have with him in heaven.

Emmett is survived by his parents: Emmett Earl Jr. and Alisha Anderson of Tacoma, Washington; Julie and Phil Martinez of Bountiful; siblings: Nyah Anderson of Cedar City, Saydee Anderson and Payton Martinez, both of Bountiful; Devon and Mariah Haynes of Salina; grandparents: Tan and Judy Sitthichai of Central Valley; Emmett Earl Anderson Sr. of Richfield; and many loved aunts, uncles and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his grandmother, Patty Anderson and an uncle, Daniel Ty Sitthichai.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at 1:00 P.M. in the Springer Turner Funeral Home Chapel in Richfield, where friends may call for viewing Saturday morning from 10:30 to 12:30 prior to the services.
