Eric O. Christensen

Redmond, Utah - Our beloved brother, uncle, cousin and friend, Eric Owen Christensen, age 72, of Redmond, passed away September 26, 2017 in Centerfield, Utah. He was born June 4, 1945 in Salina, Utah, a son of Owen Duane and Elva Lee Mickelsen Christensen. He graduated from North Sevier High School, Class of 1963 and then attended Snow College in Ephraim, where he graduated with a degree in Arts. He served an LDS Mission to Hawaii and after his mission he went to the University of Utah in Salt Lake City where he graduated with a degree in Arts. Eric was a member of the LDS Church. He was a florist and had a flare for designing interesting and entertaining floral arrangements. He lived and worked in Hawaii as a florist for 40 years, where he decorated many of the fancy hotels and catered many parties and dinners. He was extremely talented in his floral designs and was very much in demand with his floral arrangements on the islands. He returned to Sevier County shortly after the death of his father in 2002 and he worked at Anderson Floral and Garden Center in Richfield for 15 years, until he retired. He enjoyed gardening, doing crafts and handiwork and designing floral arrangements. He enjoyed camping and spending time with his brothers and their families. Eric is survived by his brother, Ryan and Verlene Christensen of Santa Clara, Utah; sister-in-law: Sandra Dee Christensen of Redmond, Utah; numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Owen and Elva Christensen; and his brother, Dirk Duane Christensen. Graveside services will be held Saturday, September 30, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. in the Redmond Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family at the Springer Turner Funeral Home in Salina, Saturday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Redmond Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
