Ethel Mae Koyle

September 6, 1947 — May 26, 2008

Orem, Utah - Our beautiful and loving wife, mother and grandmother, Ethel Mae Julander Koyle, age 60, passed away at her home in Orem on May 26, 2008. She fought an incredible fight to be with her family and to be grandma to her grand babies. Ethel was born in Gallup, New Mexico, on September 6, 1947 and grew up in Elsinore, Utah. She served in the Columbia Venezuela Mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She had such a strong testimony of the gospel. She met her eternal soul mate while attending BYU. She married her best friend, DeVon Jay Koyle, August 2, 1974 in the Manti LDS Temple. They were married for 33 years and had four kids, Jamie, Michael, Jenette and Jodi. DeVon and Ethel began their companionship in Chinle, Arizona where she served as District Relief Society President and taught Seminary to Native American Youth. They moved to Colton, California where she served as Relief Society President, worked in the School District, served as P.T.A. President and as Room and Team Mother. They then moved to Moreno Valley, California, where she worked in the Young Women’s Girls Camp Program and served as Relief Society President. The last chapter of her life was in Orem, Utah, where she finally became her life dream of being a grandma and had 6 wonderful grand babies, which brought her such enjoyment. She worked in the Title IX Indian Education Program in the Alpine School District. Her favorite things to do were sewing, shopping at Craft Fairs with her daughters, and long talks with her son. She loved to watch westerns, Little House on the Prairie and she loved to travel with her family. She love to spend time with her grandchildren. They brought a smile to her face, each and every day. They were her angels and gave her strength. You will be deeply missed, Mama Bear. You gave us a great example to follow. We will always love you. Ethel is survived by her husband of Orem; children: Jamie Lynne and Nicholas Nunley, Jodi Shandiin and Bill Forsyth, all of Orem; Michael and Kristi Koyle of San Diego, CA; Jenette and Larry Campos of Salt Lake City; 6 grandchildren: Riley, Nathan and Dustin Koyle, Bailey, Skylar and Katelynne Campos; her mother, Betty Minty Barney Julander of Elsinore; brother and sister: Carl and Jeanene Julander, Elaine Julander, all of Richfield.
