Ethel P. Hartung

April 28, 1919 — March 20, 2012

Centerfield, Utah - Our kind and loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister, Ethel Pearl Goodenough Hartung, "GG", age 92, passed peacefully from this life at her home in Centerfield, March 20, 2012, surrounded by her loving family. She was born April 28, 1919 in McCammon, Idaho, a daughter of William and Anna Mae Hunter Goodenough. She married Raymond Paul Hartung, September 27, 1953 in Pocatello, Idaho. Ethel was an active member of the LDS Church, serving in the Relief Society. She loved music and loved to dance the Charleston. In high school, she was a member of the basket ball team. She loved riding horses as a young woman and was a champion Indian Leg Wrestler. She enjoyed traveling. In all her 92 years of living, Ethel never learned to ride a bicycle. She is survived by her loving husband, Ray, of Centerfield; children: Rita Mae Lish and Blaine Lamar Hall, both of Downy, Idaho; Judy Kae Pepmuller and Terry Lee Hall, both of Salt Lake City; Marlene and Ira McCoy of Copperton; RaeDene and Mike Wanner of Centerfield; 21 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 22 great-great-grandchildren; 1 sister: Elaine Meccico of Pocatello, Idaho. She was preceded in death by her parents; 5 brothers and 5 sisters; 2 sons-in-law: Claude Lish and Gary Pepmuller; 2 grandsons and 1 great-grandson. The family would like to extend a special "Thank You" to the Gunnison Valley Hospital, Home Health and Hospice nurses and doctors, for their kind and loving care of our dear wife and mother, during her final hours. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at 12 Noon in the Centerfield LDS Ward Chapel, where friends may call for viewing Monday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. or Tuesday morning from 10:00 to 11:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Centerfield City Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
