Eugene R. Lund

Eugene R. Lund Gunnison, Utah - Eugene Rulon Lund, age 70, of Gunnison, died March 13, 2004 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was born July 31, 1933 in Gunnison, a son of Alva H. and Amber Metcalf Lund. He graduated from Gunnison High School, Class of 1953. Eugene served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He married Afton Peacock December 12, 1953 in Sterling, Utah. Their marriage was solemnzied in the Manti LDS Temple, September 17, 1977. Eugene was a member of the LDS Church. He was a farmer and served as water master for many years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, horses and his grandchildren. Eugene is survived by his wife, Afton P. Lund; daughter: Betty and David Higgins; son: Ron and Michelle Christenson; 7 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; brothers: DeLoyd and Arva Lund; Newell Lund. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sons: Ricky Eugene Lund and Leslie Alva Lund. Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 18, 2004 at 12 Noon in the Gunnison LDS Stake Center, 80 West Center Street in Gunnison, where friends may call for viewing Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. and Thursday morning from 10:30 to 11:30 prior to the services. Burial with military honors accorded by the Gunnison American Legion Post will be in the Gunnison City Cemetery under the direction of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield, Salina and Gunnison, Utah.
