Evelyn Hunt Mckinney

Salina, Utah – Evelyn Gwen Hunt Black McKinney, age 89, passed away August 3, 2020 at her home in Salina. She was born January 17, 1931 in Torrey, Utah, a daughter of Sidney Rulon and Martha Gwen Gibbons. She attended Wayne High School, Snow College and Southern Utah State College. Evelyn married Kendall J. Black March 28, 1949 in the Manti LDS Temple. Kendall was killed in a farming accident August 22, 1952 when Evelyn was pregnant with their second child. Evelyn later married Dale Lavern McKinney May 10, 1955. Evelyn is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving as Relief Society Secretary. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, knitting, sewing, quilting and going fishing. Evelyn is survived by her husband, Dale, of Salina; children: Kenneth and Cathy Black of Mapleton; Burke and Valarie Black of Centerfield; Michael and Fiona McKinney of Altamont, New York; Connie Vore of Elsinore; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; siblings: Dorothy Turner of Venice; Bonnie Baudino of Fairview; Lois and Emil Brinkerhoff, and Bessie Stewart, all of Bicknell; Merrill and Debbie Hunt of Centerfield; sister-in-law: LuJean Hunt of Teasdale. She is preceded in death by her parents, Rulon and Martha Hunt; siblings: Inez and Urban White; Duane Hunt; brothers-in-law: DeLoy Stewart and Darwin Turner. Grave side services will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2020 at 1:00 P.M. in the Torrey Cemetery. Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home in Richfield, Friday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. Burial will be in the Torrey Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
