Torrey, Utah - Faye Taylor Behunin, age 98, passed away May 29, 2016 in Torrey. She wa born July 16, 1917 in Fremont, Utah, a daughter of Glen Ellison and Dorothy May Morrell Taylor. After graduating from high school, she fell in love with Clyde Earl Behunin and they were married June 29, 1940 in Torrey. Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple, August 20, 1971. Clyde preceded her in death on February 12, 2003. Born in 1917, Faye's long life spanned an amazing array of events. She was witness to almost a century of amazing technological advances, from horse and buggy to jet airplanes, coal oil lamps to electricity, typewriter to computer, no phone to cell phone. Her entire life was centered in Fremont and Torrey. She grew up in Fremont with a hardworking family and was the oldest of fifteen children. Her youth was spent in Fremont and she graduated from Wayne High School in Bicknell. Faye and Clyde reared 2 children and helped rear 2 grandsons and a great-grandson. They worked hand in hand farming, ranching and owned a rock crushing operation to support their family. She worked for several years at the Sunglow Cafe in Bicknell. As a homemaker, she loved to cook and work in her garden, raising vegetables for family and friends. She enjoyed sewing and made quilts for family members. Faye was able to take memorable trips to Washington DC, Hawaii and Mexico. The hallmark of Faye's life was services to her family and church. Her membership in the LDS faith was quintessentially important to her, serving faithfully in a variety of church positions. She spent many hours tending and loving her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She lived life with a purpose and filled it with hard work and dedicated faith. Faye is survived by her children: Roger Clyde and Sherri Behunin of St. George; Lois Faye and Gerard Hoddenbach of Torrey; 14 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren and 19 great-great-grandchildren; sisters and brothers: Blanche (John, deceased) Brinkerhoff of Bicknell; Leo (Jerry, deceased) Taylor Sandy; Dick and Joan Taylor of Fremont; JoAnn (Maynard, deceased) Erickson, Malcolm Dent and Sheryl Taylor, all of Arizona; sister-in-law: Cora Mae Taylor of Fremont. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a grandson, Darryl Clyde Behunin; a great-grandson, Dallas Brown; and her siblings: Berta and Kay Taft; Mell and Bonita Taylor; Arnold and Jaleen Taylor, Glen DeVoy Taylor, May Taylor, Talmage and Veniece Taylor, Loma and Eugene Blackburn, Hyrum Taylor and Kay Taylor. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 18, 2016 at 1:009 P.M. in the Torrey LDS Ward Chapel, where friends may call for viewing Saturday morning from 11:00 to 12:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Torrey Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
