Florence D. Squires

Salina, Utah - Our wonderful mother, grandmother and friend, Florence Dennison Squires, age 88, passed away after a long extended illness on April 8, 2007 in Sandy, Utah. She was born January 13, 1919 in Salina, Utah, the seventh of nine children born to Alma Arthur and Hazel Ann Vorheese Dennison. She was raised and lived in Salina her whole life. She attended North Sevier School and was voted “Queen Of Salina” her senior year. She meet and married Henri Squires on December 25, 1938 in Salina. He died January 20, 1999. Her greatest joy was her family. She loved having everyone come home together. She like to quilt, and she enjoyed her yard and sitting on her front porch. Florence and Henri had four children: Dee AnnA S. Gill and Henry Lynn Squires, both of West Valley City; Hazel and Paul Julian of American Fork; Mac Rae Squires, deceased November of 1991; daughter-in-law: Ruth and Dean Harmer of Salina; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; 1 brother, Arthur and LaVerna Dennison of Salt Lake City. She was preceded in death by 5 sisters and 2 brothers. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 13, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. in the Salina 2nd LDS Ward Chapel, located at 87 South 100 East in Salina. Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home in Salina, Thursday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. or Friday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Salina Eastside Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield, Salina and Gunnison, Utah.
