Frances C. Jensen

Sterling/Salina, Utah - Our kind and beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, Frances Christensen Jensen, age 86, died September 17, 2008 in Gunnison, Utah. She was born September 6, 1922 in Redmond, Utah, a daughter of Eva Joy Christensen. She married Rex Jensen, February 16, 1945 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He died May 3, 2001. She graduated from North Sevier High School, Class of 1939. She worked the graveyard shift at Sevier Valley Hospital as a nurses aid in the nursing home until it separated from the hospital. Then she worked in the maternity ward at the hospital until she retired. In her later years, she volunteered at the Gunnison Valley Hospital until her health wouldn’t permit her. She was a member of the LDS Church. Frances is survived by her three children: Tom and Val Jensen of Richfield; Mary and Larry Hansen of Sterling; David and Tina Jensen of Salina; 9 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; brother and sister: Louie and Bry Sorensen of Salt Lake City; Don and Amy Draper of Texas; a brother-in-law, Gary Sturdevent of California; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; her mother, Eva Joy Shay; her mother who raised her, Alveretta Draper, a sister, Joy Sturdevent and many other brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 20, 2008 at 12 Noon in the Salina 2nd and 3rd LDS Ward Chapel, 85 South 100 East in Salina. Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home in Salina, Saturday morning from 10:30 to 11:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Redmond Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
