Frances K. Hickman

Torrey, Utah - Frances King Hickman, age 78, of Torrey, died June 1, 2015 at her home in Torrey. She was born November 13, 1936 in Fruita, Utah, a daughter of Oral and Eliza Alice Heaps Chesnut King. She graduated from Wayne High School, Class of 1955. She married her sweetheart, Kay Hickman, July 15, 1954 in Torrey, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She was a member of the LDS Church, serving in the Primary and was also a Visiting Teacher in the Relief Society. She sold Avon for over 30 years. She enjoyed reading, putting puzzles together, doing handiwork, loved being with her family and friends. She alway had a smile on her face, and her biggest joy was her kids, grandkids and great-grandkids, and especially the man in her life, her husband, Kay. She is survived by her loving husband, Kay Hickman of Torrey; children: McKay (Sandy) Hickman of Torrey; Peggy Sue Hickman (Ed Zalkus) of Murray; Mary (Ron) Graham of Sigurd; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; sisters and brothers: Alice Faye Sackett of Delores, Colorado; Fern (David) Andreason of Cortez, Colorado; William H. (Carol) King of Nampa, Idaho; Patricia King of Lovelock, Nevada; Stacie King of West Wendover, Nevada; sister-in-law: LaRue King of Richfield. She was preceded in death by her parents, Oral and Alice King; parents-in-law: Joe and Ida Hickman; brothers: Oral Max King, Thayne King; and sister-in-law: Muriel (Neldon) Torgerson. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Gunnison Hospice, Terry Leavitt, Sarah Rees and Connie Durfey for their tender care and kindness shown to our beloved Wife and Mother. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 6, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. in the Torrey LDS Ward Chapel. Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home in Richfield, Friday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. or at the ward chapel in Torrey, Saturday morning from 11:00 to 12:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Torrey Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
