Frank Killen

October 5, 1927 — September 20, 2024

Oroville, California/ Loa, Utah – Our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Cecil Frank Killen, age 96, passed away September 20, 2024. He was born October 5, 1927, in Clintwood, Virginia, a son of George Patton and Myrtie Combs Killen. He grew up and attended schools in Clintwood. He served his country honorably during World War II in the United States Army. 

Frank married the love of his life, Ona Ree Taylor November 26, 1955, in Provo, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized in the Los Angeles LDS Temple March 10, 1966. 

They made their home in Canoga Park, California where they raised their children. Frank is an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in various callings throughout his lifetime. 

He loved fishing in Bridgeport, California.  Frank is survived by his loving wife, Ona Ree Killen of Oroville, California; his children: David and Sherri Killen of West Bountiful, Utah; Dianna and Darrell Smith of Blue Springs, Missouri; Donald Killen of Oakland, California; Debra and Geoff Carlson of Oroville, California; 13 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Myrtie Killen, and two brothers: Caleb Haynes and Crit Killen.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, October 5, 2024, at 12:30 P.M. in the Loa, Utah Cemetery. Friends may call for viewing at the Loa LDS Stake Center, 20 South 100 West in Loa, Saturday morning from 11:00 A.M. to 12:00 Noon prior to the services. 

A recording of the services will be posted here within 24 hours after the graveside.

Burial with military honors accorded by the Harold Brown American Legion Post #92 and the Utah Honor Guard will be in the Loa Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
