Fred M. Pannunzio

September 23, 1951 — October 24, 2019

Salina, Utah - Fred Michael Pannunzio, 68, passed away October 24, 2019 at his home in Salina, Utah, after a long and courageous battle against cancer. He was born September 23, 1951 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Fred William and Lorraine Rainaldi Pannunzio. Fred graduated from Tooele High School and Southern Utah State University. He married Kathy Mabbutt in July 1983 becoming a stepdad to two very special step children, Kirt (Alecia) Turner and Kasey Turner. Together they had their son Kade Michael. They were later divorced. Fred enjoyed 34 years living his dream job with the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources. He retired in 2009 with the rank of Sergeant. Fred loved hunting, fishing and especially having mounts of his trophy animals. He recorded all of his adventures with photographs and would carry his most recent album with him just hoping that someone might ask about his hunt and want to see all of his photos. Even being as ill as he was, the USS Grinder fishing team made sure that he was able to go fishing with them. His last big adventure was harvesting a Desert Sheep on the Zion. He had waited 25 years to draw this permit and with the help of some very fine gentlemen his dream was fulfilled. Fred is survived by his children, his grand children: Riley, Taden and Kelby Turner; Oakley and Pyper Tsosie; Shaquel (Rhett) Facer, Kyler, Kolten, and Rope Christensen, great grandson Graham Facer, sister Carma (Dean) Evans, brother Robert Pannunzio. He was preceded in death by his parents and infant sister Barbara Ann. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, November 1, at 12:00 p.m. at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, 815 North Highway 118 in Central Valley, Utah. There will be a viewing Thursday, October 31, from 6-8 p.m. with the Rosary being prayed at 8 p.m. at the Springer Turner Funeral Home in Richfield. A Celebration of Life luncheon where we can visit and share Fred-stories will be held at the Salina LDS Stake Center, 95 West 400 North in Salina, immediately following interment at the Salina Pioneer Cemetery.
