Redmond/St. George, Utah - Charles Gail Heath, age 76, passed from this life into the next, on Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at his home in Redmond, Utah, with most of his family by his side. On April 19, 1934 in Salina, Utah, during the Great Depression, Gail made his appearance in to this beautiful world. He was the 6th child born to Leslie Hyrum and Clara Afton Hards Heath. He married Joe Ann Poulson, October 30, 1954 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized in the St. George LDS Temple, March 9, 1996, where they were sealed together as a forever family. For the last 40 years, Gail has suffered many, many health problems. He has been a fighter and a survivor, and he has always bounced back. He has bravely endured each and every trial he has been given. He loved life and was a friend to everyone. Gail and his wife, Joe Ann enjoyed spending the winters in St. George for the past 20 some years. When his health permitted, they used to spend their summers in Fish Lake. He loved to fish and hunt. He spent many years doing both, with his four boys, his grandsons, brothers, his Dad, his father-in-law and the special extra son in his life, Gaylin Larsen. After spending 22 years in the service, Gail retired from the U. S. Navy in August of 1970 and moved home to be closer to family. He spent 10 years as a letter carrier for the Post Office in Salina, Utah. He was a very friendly and out going person and loved people. When he first started he delivered the mail riding a bike, then later the mail truck. The kids in Salina called him “The Candy Man”. Gail and Joe Ann served part time missions at the Family History Center in Richfield. They were tour guides at Cove Fort, and at the Member Location Mission in St. George. Gail served as High Priest Secretary and also the Executive Secretary in the 27th Ward Winter Branch in St. George. He loved to help with the baptisms in the St. George Temple. Gail is survived by his wife of Redmond and St. George; his children: Randell and Tina Heath of Mt. Green; Russell and Mavis Heath, C.G. and Brenna Heath, all of Redmond; 16 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters: Ted and Val Heath; Russell and June Heath; Lynda and Bill, Launa and Charles; numerous nieces and nephews that he loved and his extended Temple View Family in St. George.
