Salina, Utah - Our kind and loving husband, father, grandfather and brother, Warren Gail Shaw, age 78, died peacefully at his home in Salina on July 19, 2010 after a short battle with cancer. He was born March 15, 1932 in Aurora, Utah, the tenth of ten children born to William Hartley and Mary Jeanette Harding Shaw. He graduated from North Sevier High School, Class of 1950. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Gail married Mary Louise Shepherd, December 7, 1950 in Salina, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple June 16, 1964. Gail retired after 32 years, working at Hercules in Salt Lake City. He was an active member of the LDS Church, serving in two different Bishoprics as well as many other callings. Gail enjoyed wood working and taking care of his garden. He spent many days hunting and camping with his family. His family was his main concern and he will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife of Salina; children: Rick Gail Shaw of Salina; Sherri Lyn Strong of Salt Lake City; Jim K. And Ann Shaw of Aurora; Carolyn and Ray Hardy of Washington City; 9 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; sisters: Roa Mason and Fonda Kennedy, both of Aurora; Lois Jones of Salt Lake City; his mother-in-law: Myrtle Shepherd Martin of Salina. He was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 23, 2010 at 12 Noon in the Salina 2nd LDS Ward Chapel, 85 South 100 East in Salina. Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home, 150 East Main Street in Salina, Thursday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. or Friday morning from 10:30 to 11:30 prior to the services. Burial with military honors accorded by the Salina American Legion Post #36 will be in the Salina Pioneer Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
