Garney Gee Salina, Utah - Garney Q. Gee, age 95, of Salina, died July 13, 2003 in Richfield. He was born June 10, 1908 in Redmond, Utah, a son of William and Sophia Olsen Gee. He graduated from North Sevier High School, Class of 1929. He moved to California and met Evelyn Elm. They were married October 11, 1934 in Yuma, Arizona. Garney worked as a landscape contractor and landscaped small shopping malls throughout California. He had his own nursery and enjoyed working with plants. After his retirement they moved back home to Salina in 1971. Garney was a very active member of the Salina Lion’s Club. He served as Grand Marshall for the Salina 4th of July Parade in 2000. He enjoyed hunting, especially hunting ducks, fishing and gardening. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn, of Salina; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers and four sisters: Reta G. Crane, Ivy G. Phelps, Winona G. Nielsen, Zelda G. Brown, Ruby G. Andreason, Ted Gee, Waldo Gee, Boyd Gee and Tony Gee. Garney wanted just a grave side service, but because of the hot weather, a short funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 16, 2003 at 10:00 A.M. in the Springer Turner Funeral Home in Salina, where friends may call for viewing Wednesday morning one hour prior to the services. Burial will be in the Salina Eastside Cemetery under the direction of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield, Salina and Gunnison, Utah.
