Garrett Brown

August 22, 1971 — April 26, 2021

Herriman, Utah - Our loving son, brother, husband, father, uncle and friend passed away on April 26, 2021 after a long hard-fought battle with colon cancer. Garrett was born on August 22, 1971, in Reno Nevada to Paul and Duella Williams Brown. He started this world as a fighter coming early and weighing only 3.12 pounds. Garrett grew up in Loa Utah and loved everyone there. He told us recently that his all-time favorite job was working as a teenager at the Ellett’s Gas Station during his high school years. He graduated in 1989 from Wayne High School. Garrett served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Washington Tacoma Mission. This is where he met his wife, Lisa. They were married in the Manti Temple on July 1st 1993. Garrett continued his schooling, graduating from Idaho State University and later completed his Master’s Degree. He worked for Target as a retail manager and other retail companies as well. He loved working on the family ranch with his family and in-laws for the last years of his working career. He loved serving his Heavenly Father. It gave him great joy. He served in many different callings including Bishop and member of many presidencies including the stake presidency. He cherished each calling and the opportunity to serve. His influence was felt by all those he met. He never met a stranger considering everyone his friend, old or new. He loved sharing with and lifting others through texting, social media and personal visits. He continued to love and reach out to others even through his uncomfortable chemo treatments. He loved his children Kylie (James) Marshall, Haylee, Camilla and Paul and was very proud of the things they were doing. He was always encouraging them and letting them know how much he loved them. He would offer advice and encouragement whenever he had the chance. His children were his pride and joy. In his last few days as he was less with us, he would tell us he could see all of his grandchildren. Survived by his parents, Paul and Duella Brown, Stacie (Jason) Ekker, sister, Craig Brown, brother. Wife Lisa, Children, Kylie (James) Marshall, Haylee, Camilla and Paul Brown. Preceded in death by his grandparents Tone and Ethel Brown and Orawell and Vonda Williams and many other relatives and friends. The family extends special thanks to the Huntsman Cancer Institute, the amazing and countless staff members who continually cared for his needs during his treatments. The South Jordan Infusion Staff, Angels Crossing Hospice Staff and the Mountain View Stake in Herriman Utah for the continuous service, love and prayers. We will be forever grateful. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Huntsman Cancer Institute.
