Gaye Barney

Fayette, Utah - Gaye Buchanan Barney, age 69, died March 21, 2006 at her home in Fayette. She was born November 3, 1936 in Richfield, Utah, a daughter of Ameul and Coral Black Buchanan. She graduated from Richfield High School, Class of 1954. Gaye married Max Hyrum Barney, March 18, 1959 in Ely, Nevada. Max died September 3, 2004. Gaye enjoyed cross word puzzles, painting, fishing and bird watching. She was a member of the LDS Church. She is survived by her children: Barbara and Ellis Nay, Gregory and Cindi Barney, all of Salina; Sandie Roach of Tooele; Tena and Kelly Brown of Magna; 22 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; sister and brother: Sanna and Dean Cowley of Pocatello, ID; Gene Buchanan of Lake Point, UT. She was preceded in death by her husband, Max; parents, Coral and Ameul Buchanan; a daughter, Gaylene Grey; two sisters: Ann Duden and Barbara Banta; and one grandson, Tyson Nay. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 25, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. in the Fayette LDS Ward Chapel, where friends may call for viewing Friday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. and again Saturday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Fayette Cemetery under the direction of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield, Salina and Gunnison, Utah.
