She was born August 11, 1940 in Salina, Utah to Sam A. and Idona Jorgensen. She married N. Whitney Stewart on December 13, 1957 in Salina, Utah and spent 63 wonderful years together where they made their home in Venice, Utah. Mom was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Mom was a fantastic cook; we enjoyed her recipes that she shared with all her family. Mom was a Cub Scout Den Mother for 20 years and she served in the Young Women's program. Mom had a beautiful alto singing voice, she belonged to a singing group called the Momonettes. Mom came from a family with a long history in Utah politics including her father and grandfather which influenced her desire to serve as a Republican Party Delegate and Judge of Elections for many years. Mom was an excellent seamstress, candy maker, tole painter and quilter. She loved decorating her home for all holidays especially Halloween, which was her favorite. Mom was an avid reader, enjoying well over 900 books and countless others. Mom was very compassionate, loved and accepted everyone. She will be dearly missed by her family and all who knew her. Mom you will always be in our thoughts, forever in our hearts.
To our dearest mother Up in Heaven above We know today you’re with us all And sending all your love Today we will all remember you, And bid you one last goodbye, Celebrate the life you had And maybe have a cry You had such a long life, So many have so less It was your time, the Angels came And placed you with the best So dear Mother, up above Although you’re no longer here, In our hearts is where we’ll keep you Forever you’ll be near Anonymous
