Genny Burr

Salina, Utah - Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister and friend, Geneive (Genny) Lucy Kane Burr, age 83, returned to her Heavenly Father, peacefully at her home in Salina, on Saturday, April 28, 2007, surrounded by her loved ones. Genny was born May 17, 1923, (sharing her birthday with an Aunt, 2 Grandson’s and 1 Great-Grandchild). She is a daughter of James and Abbie Jane Rasmussen Kane, and the only sister to four brothers. She married Theodore Henry (Ted) Burr in the Burr house in Salina, Utah on July 31, 1940. Genny was well known for her immaculate house. She loved to work out in her yard and especially in her rose garden. She always was serving a “HOT” meal to anyone that came her way. She was involved in her Church and Community in various leadership positions and took pride in her work. Genny is survived by her husband, Ted, of 67 memorable years; a son, Michael (Barbara) Burr and a daughter, Barbara (Kelly) Laier; 6 grandchildren: Brandon, Brenda, Trent, Troy, Monette and Morgan; 15 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; a brother, Don Raymond Kane. She was preceded in death by three brothers: Kimble James Kane, Michael Lynn Kane and Glen Bliss Kane. The Family wants to extend their thanks to Dr. Kim Beck, Home Health and Hospice, especially Debbie Woodside, Susan Allred, Cindy Wilson and Emily Burt for their expertise and devotion to Genny. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 2, 2007 at 12 Noon in the Salina LDS Stake Center, 98 West 400 North in Salina, where friends may call for viewing Wednesday morning form 10:00 to11:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Salina Pioneer Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield, Salina and Gunnison, Utah.
