Richfield, Utah - Our beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, George Amos Schumann, age 84, died February 16, 2012 at his home in Richfield, surrounded by his family, after a valiant battle with cancer. He was born April 22, 1927 in Tremonton, Utah, a son of George Ludwig Christian and Louise Marie Emma Reinhardt Schumann. He graduated from Bear River High School, Class of 1946 in Tremonton. George served his country in the U.S. Army/Air Force during World War II. He married Susanna Ballard, May 22, 1947 in the Logan LDS Temple. George was a very active member of the LDS Church, serving as Bishop, Bishop’s Counselor, District President, Branch President, High Priest Group Leader, Home Teacher, Sunday School President, Ward Mission Leader and Stake High Councilor. He always had a wonderful vegetable garden. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and loved to work with wood. He very much enjoyed his life as rancher and farmer and took great pride in it.
