August 16, 1927 — June 19, 2003

Gerald D. Hunt Richfield, Utah - Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and friend, Gerald Devon Hunt, died peacefully at his home in Richfield, surrounded by his family on June 19, 2003. He was born August 16, 1927 in Sevier, Utah, the oldest of 9 children born to Donal John and Marvel Ann Utley Hunt. He graduated from South Sevier High School in 1945 and attended one year at BYU. He served in the US Army at the end of World War II. Gerald married Betsy Jean Rogers, May 28, 1948 in the Manti LDS Temple. She died May 24, 1996. He married Carrol Fullmer, November 17, 2000 in the Manti LDS Temple. Gerald was an active member of the LDS Church. He served as an ordinance worker at the Manti Temple for 9 years, served as a ward clerk, scout master, High Priest leader and thoroughly enjoyed doing geneology. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and enjoyed many hours in the mountains and at his favorite fishing hole with his family. He always had a beautiful garden and grew especially beautiful roses. He loved his grandkids and enjoyed teasing them and making up poems for them. Gerald is survived by his wife, Carrol, of Richfield; children: Stanley G. and Vickie Hunt, Devon R. and Jodi Hunt, all of Monroe; Doris and Tim Bastian, Sherry and Steve Forbush, Glen D. and Norma Hunt, all of Aurora; Richard J. and Melani Hunt of Auburn, WA; step-children: Debra and Dee Johnson of Monroe; Pauline and Steve Bird of Circleville; Kristie Evans of Apache Junction, AZ; Wayne Anderson of Las Vegas, NV; 34 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; mother, Marvell Hunt of Richfield; sisters and brothers: Vonda and Gene Julander, Ila DeanNielson, Nedra and Thad Nielsen, Cecil and Annette Hunt, Pat and David Simonsen, all of Richfield; Betty and Quinn Christensen of Central Valley; Donald Joe Hunt of LaVerkin; Mary Ann and Kirby Parker of Joseph. He was preceded in death by his father and 1 granddaughter. Funeral services will be held Monday, June 23, 2003 at 11:00 A.M. in the Richfield 11th LDS Ward Chapel, located at 985 South 400 West, in Richfield. Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home in Richfield, Sunday evening from 7 to 9 P.M and at the ward chapel Monday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 prior to the services. Burial with military honors accorded by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Sevier Post #5050 will be in the Richfield City Cemetery.
