Aurora, Utah - Joseph Gerald Mickelsen, age 76, of Aurora, died January 14, 2007 in Mayfield of complications from leukemia. He was born May 4, 1930 in Salina, Utah, a son of Joseph David and Myrl Sina Hansen Mickelsen. He graduated from North Sevier High School, Class of 1948. He married Della Jane Stott, November 4, 1949 in the Manti LDS Temple. Jane died March 20, 1975. Gerald was a member of the LDS Church. He worked and retired from the Gypsum Plant in Sigurd. He enjoyed hunting, riding 4-wheelers, camping and horses. Gerald is survived by his three children: Steven and Janice Mickelsen of Redmond; Rose Ann and Robert Crunk of St. George; Gerry and Glenna Mickelsen of Salina; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two sisters: Norma Gene Reynolds of Alaska; Beth Ann Mason of Aurora. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Kerry Mickelsen; his wife, Jane; a granddaughter, Trina Ann Crunk; a great-granddaughter, Katlyn Jane Norton; a brother, Howard J. Mickelsen and two brothers-in-law: Versel J. Mason and Carl Reynolds. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 17, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. in the Aurora 1st LDS Ward Chapel. Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home in Salina, Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. or at the ward chapel in Aurora Wednesday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Salina Eastside Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield, Salina and Gunnison, Utah. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to the Huntsman Cancer Institute in Salt Lake City in memory of Gerald.
