Richfield, Utah – Our kind and loving husband, father, grandfather and brother, Gerald Waters, age 75, passed away September 1, 2022 at his home in Richfield after a valiant battle with prostate cancer. He was born August 25, 1947 in Brigham City, Utah, a son of Lamar and Mable Lu Johnson Waters. He served his country in the United States Army and was honorable discharged January 30, 1974.
Gerald married Catherine Elaine McCabe November 26, 1980 in Richfield, Utah.
He is a member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Gerald enjoyed wheeling and dealing. He loved anything Mopar, cars, trucks and tractors, cutting wood and driving dump trucks. He will be missed.
Gerald is survived by his wife, Cathy, of Richfield; children: Candy and Curtis Sweatfield of Richfield; Lamar and Nicole Waters of Rock Springs, Wyoming; Jim Waters of Richfield; Shannon and Jessica Waters of Venice; 17 grandchildren: Braxtin Curtis Sweatfield, Sienna Jade Sweatfield, Dalton Gerald Sweatfield, Grayson Sage Sweatfield, Abel Kevin Sweatfield, Oliver Reid Sweatfield, Rayven Rezil Waters, Kaesen Ben Waters, Aria Mckaylie Waters, Mila Brielle Waters, Charity Jade Waters, Harley James Waters, Kadence Wayne Waters, Phoenix Marie Waters, Bryxlee Jo Waters, Travis Carl Waters and Trinitee Lynn Waters; siblings: Mary Lue Waters of Sigurd; Gloria Cook of Elsinore; Delmar and Kate Waters of Monroe; Zandra and Dean Holgate of Elsinore; Jim and Colleen Waters of Vermillion; Elaine and Doug Eberhard of De Beque, Colorado.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Lamar and Mable Lu Johnson Waters; and two siblings: Jeanette Roderick and Floyd Waters.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 10, 2022 at 12 Noon in the Springer Turner Funeral Home Chapel in Richfield, where friends may call for viewing Saturday morning from 10:00 to 11:30 prior to the services.
Burial with military honors accorded by the VFW Sevier Post #5050 and the Utah Honor Guard will be in the Richfield City Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
