Gleed Utley

Aurora, Utah – Our beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother, Denzil Gleed L. Utley, age 94, passed away December 17, 2019 in Centerfield, Utah. He was born May 25, 1925 in Joseph, Utah, a son of Denzil Gay and Nora Opal Ross Utley. He graduated from South Sevier High School in 1943. He joined the United States Navy and served his country during World War II. Gleed married the loved of his life, Evelyn Irene Houseman February 22, 1947 in Kalispell, Montana. Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple July 21, 1955. She died November 25, 2016. Gleed and Evelyn made their home in Aurora. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He worked for the Gypsum Plant in Sigurd. Gleed enjoyed hunting, fishing, horseback riding, bee keeping, rock hounding and making diamond willow walking canes. He is survived by his two children: Dennis Ray Utley of Idaho Springs, Colorado; and Tonya Ray Hayes of Salt Lake City; 10 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild; a brother, Larry and Marilyn Utley of Henderson, Nevada. He is preceded in death by five children: David Utley, Jack Lewis Utley, Mark Utley, Iris Irene Utley and Michael Gleed Utley; siblings: Dwayne Utley; Scott Morrell and Cleo Utley and Virginia Bredsguard. Funeral services will be held Monday, December 23, 2019 at 1:00 P.M. in the Aurora 1st LDS Ward Chapel, where friends may call for viewing Monday from 11:00 to 12:30 prior to the services. Burial with military honors accorded by the Salina American Legion Post #36 will be in the Aurora City Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
