Richfield, Utah – Our loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend, Glenda Sue Fulton Sudweeks, age 74, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly at her home in Richfield, on January 29, 2025.
She was born January 22, 1951, in Denver, Colorado, a daughter of Harvey Jay and Grace Imogene Troxler Fulton. She grew up in Idaho Springs, Colorado until the age of 5 when the family moved to the very small town of Downieville, Colorado. It was there that her family opened a small roadside restaurant at the port of entry named the G and J Café. The family owned and ran the restaurant for 32 years, until it was sold and torn down. Mom attended school at Clear Creek High School and graduated in 1969.
After graduating, she met Ronnie J. Torgerson. Ronnie had been attending school for diesel mechanics and working in Denver, while living with a mutual friend of Mom’s in Idaho Springs. Mom and Dad were married April 15, 1972. They had two sons, Justin Jay and Todd Jacob Torgerson. They later divorced.
Mom worked for the Utah Department of Corrections for a number of years. She started her career there in the mail room and finished it out doing scheduling and billing for the medical department. Mom loved her job and all of her many co-workers, some of whom became her closest friends over the years.
Shortly before her retirement, she met the love of her life and her soulmate, Richard “Suds” Sudweeks. They dated for about 3 months before Suds proposed, and they were married on May 27, 2018, at the Lions Park in Richfield, Utah, surrounded by family and friends. In the 7 short, but sweet loving years Mom and Suds were married, they shared many fun trips together and made more memories than we will ever know. Suds brought the sparkle back into Mom’s eyes and we will be forever grateful for this.
The one thing Mom loved as much as Suds or more than starting one of her many projects, was all of her grandkids. She loved spending any time she could with them. I think Sud’s said it best, when he said that Mom was a “Spit Fire”.
We are all going to miss her big heart that was matched with her big personality. It’s never goodbye, just I’ll see you later. We love you, Mom!
Mom is survived by her loving husband, Richard Suds Sudweeks; her children: Justin and Stella Torgerson; Angie Sudweeks; Brooke and Ryan Wingett; Jason Sudweeks; grandchildren: Shaelee and Sheldon Chapple; Chevie Torgerson; Allison Torgerson; Caitlan Sidwell’; JoBerta L. Torgerson; Dax Ryan Harrell and Onyx Michael Tong.
