Gloria L. Minjarez

Salina, Utah - Gloria L. Minjarez, age 88, passed away May 29, 2015 at her home in Salina. She was born December 4, 1926 in Los Angeles, California, a daughter of Peter Grijalva and Consuelo Lujan Lares. She graduated from Lincoln High School, Class of 1941. She married Manuel Pina Minjarez, June 25, 1944 in Los Angeles at the Old Plaza Mission. He died January 13, 1993. She has lived with her daughter and son-in-law in Utah since 2008. Gloria was a member of the Great Basin Church of Christ in Delta, Utah. She enjoyed having lunch with her friends at the Senior Center in Salina. Gloria is survived by her daughter, Carol Ann Minjarez Hancock of Salina; grandchildren: Juliette Minjarez of Sun Valley, California; Tesha Espana of Los Angeles, California; Danielle Minjarez of Las Vegas, Nevada; David Tinn of Las Mesa, California; great-grandchildren: Anicia of Salina and Sebastian of Los Angeles. She was preceded in death by her husband, Manuel P. Minjarez; a son, Manuel Minjarez; her parents, Consuelo and Pete Lares; and her brother, Edward Lares. Private services have been held for the family. Her remains have been cremated and burial will take place at a later date under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
