Oasis, Utah - Gordon Max Searle, age 71, died April 30, 2010 in Delta, Utah. He was born March 5, 1939 in Salt Lake City, Utah, a son of Alfred T. and Nora Warren Searle. Gordon spent six years serving his country in the United State Marine Corps. On December 24, 1956 in Delta, Utah, he married the love of his life, Arvella Meacham, whom he spent 53 wonderful years with. They resided in Salt Lake City and began a family there. He chose truck driving for an occupation which he did for 30 years and he truly loved it. They later moved to Delta where Gordon owned and operated the Wagon Wheel Tavern for 20 years. His main priority in life was to provide and care for his family and he did it well. He enjoyed family, friends, farming, fishing, hunting, boating, camping, shootin' pool, and he was an all around outdoorsman. He was a man of great character, dependable, loyal and took life’s challenges head on. He will be greatly missed. He was a wonderful and caring son, husband, father, grandfather and one hell of a brother, brother-in-law and friend. We love you, Gordon!!! He is survived by his loving wife, Arvella, of Oasis; children: Tonya Anderson of Mesa, Arizona; Deb Reynolds of Oasis; Ronda Varela Bason of St. Joseph, Missouri; Joe and Showrh Searle of Raymore, Missouri; Lorie and George Phillips of Magna; 17 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; sisters and brother: Pat Craig of West Valley City; Sherrie and Floyd Pando of West Jordan; Bill Searle of Jerome, Idaho; Cyndi and Mike Triplett of Butte, Montana. He was preceded in death by his parents, Al and Nora Searle; two sons, Rick Searle and Gordon Max Searle, Jr; a grandson, Michael Anderson; and six brothers: twins, Bobbie and Wayne Searle, Bret Searle, Joe Searle, Larry Searle and Butch Searle. Grave side Services will be held Wednesday, May 5, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. in the Oasis Cemetery. Friends may call for viewing at the Deseret Oasis LDS Ward Chapel in Deseret, Wednesday from 12:30 to 1:30 prior to the services. Burial with military honors accorded by the Delta American Legion Post #135 will be in the Oasis Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
