Grant Gordon Muhlestein

Orem, Utah - Our beloved father, grandfather and husband, Grant Gordon Muhlestein, age 65, died peacefully at his home in Cedar Hills, surrounded by loved ones on the evening of September 20, 2012. He was born March 6, 1947 in Provo Utah a son of Grant Tell and Marie Phillips Muhlestein. He married his childhood sweetheart Carolyn Chase, August 15, 1969 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Together they raised 8 beautiful children: Tammy, Matthew, Clint, Benjamin, Michelle, Jamie, Jenny and Christian. Grant was a devoted father and husband. He was dutiful in supporting a large family, and would not hesitate in putting in long hours. This was a pattern he continued up until his passing. Grant loved his wife, children and his Lord. Family was his life! Then on February 16, 2009 his beloved sweetheart, Carolyn, passed away of complications due to Alzhiemers. Later, on January 28, 2010 Grant was married to Carol Kay Johnson. They have shared a wonderful companionship together. Carol was an angel as she cared for Grant during his challenges with cancer. Grant is survived by his wife Carol Muhlestein; his eight children; 63 grandchilren; his brother Martel Muhlestein, and his sister Jan Dearing. Funeral services will be held Friday, September 28, 2012 at 12 Noon in the Cascade 2nd LDS Ward Chapel, located at 481 East Center Street in Orem, where friends may call for viewing Thursday evening from 6 to 9 p.m. or Friday monring from 10:00 to 11:30 A.M. prior to the services. Burial will be in the Orem City Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
