Guy was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant and was actively engaged in World War II in the European Theater until 1946, when he was discharged as a Major in the US Army. Gramps has been innovative in the cattle industry by implementing cross-breeding cattle into this area. Gramps has been a fixture in many bull sales far and wide. He went to Washington D.C. to preserve grazing in the Capitol Reel National Park. He was a friend to many without any age barrier. He claims to have invented the game of cribbage and enjoyed traveling in 48 of the 50 states. Gramps was involved in many civic affairs serving on the Wayne Board of Education, Wayne County Commissioner, County Farm Bureau President, Selective Service Board, President of Dark Valley Grazers, president and member of local irrigation companies, and longtime member of the Utah State Cattlemen’s Association.
