Our sweet, loving, caring, and determined wife, mother, and grandmother Gwen Noyes, passed peacefully on Friday, July 1, 2022, in Gunnison, Utah. Gwen was born March 8, 1937, to parents, Marlin J and Nelda (Zufelt) Sorensen, Sr. in Salina, Utah. While attending North Sevier High School, she met the love of her life, Rae Noyes, Jr. They married shortly after her graduation on July 29, 1955, and were sealed for time and all eternity in the Manti Temple. They were blessed with three beautiful children: Gregory (Cindy) Noyes, Daryl (Carolee) Noyes, Belinda (Donald) Ervine. Their posterity has grown to include at the present time, 9 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren. Gwen was born in Salina, Utah. She lived in Koosharem in her younger years and later moved to Salina. While attending North Sevier High School, she was the majorette in the high school band and a member of the type team. She has always been an active member of the LDS Church. Gwen was always very active in civic organizations. She was a member of the Jaycettes and Salina Fireman’s Auxiliary for a number of years. For many years she worked as Salina City Treasurer. Gwen’s passions included sewing, candy making, and baking. Growing roses and flowers were one of her favorite hobbies. Gwen loved her and Rae’s daily rides and the special time they spent with each other. She was lucky enough to pass from this life with him holding her hand like always. She raised three great, healthy and happy children who grew up in a very loving and supportive home. She is survived by her husband Rae Noyes, and children Daryl (Carolee) Noyes, Belinda (Donald) Ervine, all of Salina; and Cindy Noyes of West Jordan, and her many, many grandchildren, David (Jan) Noyes, brother-in-law, and Sylvia (George) Cobabe, sister-in-law. She was preceded in death by her son Gregory Noyes, parents, Marlin & Nelda Sorensen, Sr., brothers Marlin J Sorensen, Jr., and Barry Sorensen, sister, Jeanette Malmgren, sister-in-law Carolyn Luke, and great-grandson, Miles Nelson. Funeral services will be held Saturday July 9, 2022, at 1:00 P.M. in the Salina LDS Stake Center, where friends may call for viewing Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. or Saturday morning from 11:30 to 12:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Salina Pioneer Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Homes of Salina and Richfield, Utah.
